Format

Open track

A private open track day at Road Atlanta - eight hours of run time. $1,000 per driver, room for 35. We need 23 drivers to cover the $23,000 rental, and it's an Early Bird pool: every dollar past the goal goes back to the first 23 who sign up. A full house sends about $522 back to each early bird. If we don't hit 23 by November 8, everyone is refunded in full.

Drivers meeting is at 7:30

The track goes hot at 8:00, so the meeting is early. Miss it and you don't go out - plan on being through the Road Atlanta gate by 7:00.

Lunch is not included

The pool covers the track, not the food. Pack your own or bring a card or cash for lunch.

Schedule

Eight hours of open lapping, split by a full hour for lunch.

  1. 7:00 AM

    Recommended arrival

    Sign your waiver at the gate, unload, and get set up in the paddock.

  2. 7:30 AM

    Drivers meeting - mandatory

    Everyone going on track has to be there. We cover the rules below, flags, and the day's specifics.

  3. 8:00 AM

    Track hot - open lapping

  4. 12:00 PM

    Lunch - track cold

    A full hour. Good time to check tire pressures and fluids.

  5. 1:00 PM

    Track hot - open lapping

  6. 5:00 PM

    Checkered - track cold

    Cool-down lap, then load out.

Open track rules

One group, all day. No run groups and no session rotations - once the track goes hot it stays hot, and you run as much or as little as you want.

  • Open track: everyone is on track together. Run the sessions you want, come in when you want.
  • Passing is allowed anywhere on track.
  • Point-bys are recommended, not required. Give the point early and make it obvious.
  • Use your blinker to show which side to pass on - left blinker, take me on the left.
  • Windows down, all day.
  • The passing driver owns the pass. If it isn't clearly on, wait for the next one.

Forms

The waiver is handled at the gate on the day. Build in a few minutes for it before the 7:30 drivers meeting.

  • Road Atlanta waiver

    Everyone 18+ · required

    Every adult who comes through the gate - drivers, crew, and guests. Signed on paper at the gate when you arrive; there is nothing to do ahead of time.

Getting there

5300 Winder Hwy, Braselton, GA 30517

Come in the main gate at 5300 Winder Hwy. Be through the gate by 7:00 so you can sign your waiver and set up before the 7:30 drivers meeting - the track goes hot at 8:00 sharp.

What to bring

  • ✓Helmet - Snell SA2020 or newer. SA2015 helmets have expired.
  • ✓Long pants and closed-toe shoes
  • ✓Tire pressure gauge
  • ✓Tow hook installed, or tie-down points clear
  • ✓Everything loose out of the car - mats, trunk, glovebox
  • ✓Plenty of water
  • ✓Lunch, or a card or cash to buy it
